In our testing the highlights were clear: current G-series hardware — the 40F’s official successor; fortiGuard UTP bundle covers IPS, web and AV filtering; ASIC acceleration keeps inspection fast at full line rate; managed centrally if you later add more Fortinet gear.
It is not perfect — license renewals cost real money every year; massive overkill for a typical home network. For most buyers in this category those trade-offs are easy to live with, but weigh them against your setup before you click buy.
