Worth knowing
Why we recommend it
The Security Key C NFC strips the YubiKey down to the FIDO essentials most families actually use, at half the price. Recommend one per family member plus a shared backup.
The highlights are clear: half the price of the YubiKey 5 series; full FIDO2/WebAuthn passkey support; USB-C + NFC, same tough hardware.
It is not perfect — no OTP, PIV or OpenPGP support; still need a second key as backup. For most buyers in this category those trade-offs are easy to live with, but weigh them against your setup before you click buy.
